Is it worth upgrading from an i5 10400f to a 10600k?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to a 3080 for 1440p gaming, but I'm worried that my current i5 10400f might not keep up. I don't want to change my motherboard, so my only option is to upgrade to a newer 10th-gen CPU. The 10700 and 10900 are way too expensive right now, so I'm considering getting a used 10600k for around $100. I could also sell my 10400f for about $50, making the upgrade pretty affordable. My main question is whether the performance increase would be worth it.

Honestly, if you're thinking about the 10600k, you might want to look into the 12600k instead. You'll get a noticeable performance boost, especially for gaming at 1440p.

But you need to switch motherboards for the 12600k.

Yeah, I don't want to swap the motherboard, I'm not really prepared for that yet.
