Is it worth upgrading from an R5 5600 to a 5700X3D for my new 6800XT build?

I've just secured a really great deal for a gaming setup that includes a 6800XT GPU, an R5 5600 CPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD, all for $375! It's paired with a 1440p/144Hz monitor. I'm wondering if I should upgrade to a 5700X3D to avoid bottlenecking, or if I should consider switching to the AM5 platform instead. Any advice on whether this upgrade is necessary or beneficial?

That's an awesome deal! The R5 5600 should handle 1440p gaming pretty well, especially at max settings. If you're just playing casual games, it’s probably more than enough. For competitive games where frames are crucial, switching to the 5700X3D could give you a nice boost in FPS.

Honestly, $375 for that setup is really cheap! The bottleneck won't be significant at 1440p—maybe just in a few specific titles. Just make sure you trust your coworker, as it’s a great deal, but you want to ensure everything works properly. The GPU itself can fetch a good price used.

Yeah, we're good friends and he’s been having a rough time, so I trust him.
