I just upgraded my PC with a new 980 GPU that I got for Christmas from my uncle, but I'm considering upgrading my CPU too. I'm not very familiar with my PC's internal components beyond the GPU and RAM. I currently have an Intel CPU, and I'm wondering if this upgrade is necessary. Would I also need to replace my motherboard, RAM, and power supply along with the CPU?

Great to hear about the GPU upgrade! For upgrading your CPU, what’s your budget? Knowing that can narrow down your options. If you’re looking to stick with gaming, consider going for an AMD chip. They often perform better for gaming, depending on what you find in your price range.
My budget is around $300 to $350. A friend’s offering me an AMD Ryzen CPU with RAM, so I may just need a new motherboard and power supply to wrap things up.
Hey there! It'd be helpful to know your current specs—maybe try downloading Speccy to check them out. That way, you'll have a better idea of what you have and what you need.
I'll look into that! Not really sure what all that includes but I’ll check it out.
Just a heads up, I’m not sure about my case since I got a pre-built from my dad.
