Is it worth upgrading my CPU for better gaming performance?

Hey everyone, happy holidays! I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my CPU. I currently have a Ryzen 9 5900X, but I've noticed that my frame rates in games aren't as good as I expected. I have an RTX 3090, so I don't think the GPU is the bottleneck. Since Black Friday is around the corner, I'm wondering if I should upgrade the CPU for better performance and, if so, what would be the best option? Thanks for your help!

If your main focus is gaming, the Ryzen 5800X3D could be a great choice due to its larger cache, which can improve performance. It's your best option on the AM4 platform. If you're open to investing more into an entire new setup, then the AM5 chips are even better, but for now, the 5800X3D should greatly improve your gaming experience.

I've heard about the 5800X3D. Is it really that much of an upgrade? I assume it's a good match for the 3090, and at $180, it sounds like a decent deal!

What do you think about the 5800X3D versus the 9800X3D?

Before making any decisions, try downloading CPU-Z and share screenshots from the memory and SPD tabs. This will help us get a clearer picture of your system's performance.

Sounds good! I’ll do that after work if I have time.
