Hey everyone! I've got a setup with an RTX 5070ti and a Ryzen 5 7600x3d. I'm thinking about selling both to get a 9070xt and a top-tier 9800x3d. The price would be around $720 for the refurbished 9070xt, and while I'd have to invest a bit more into the 9800x3d, I'm curious if this would lead to significant performance gains. My idea behind this switch is to have a stronger CPU now, which might save me from upgrading later, especially since I'm considering a 5080 in the future. Just for context, I play at 1440p on an OLED monitor. What do you all think?

I think you're overthinking it! The difference in performance between the 5070ti and 9070xt is minimal. If I were you, I'd save my cash for other things or wait until a new GPU comes out. Your rig is already better than what most gamers have, so just relax!
Honestly, I don't think you'll see much difference in performance. The 7600x3d works great with your current setup, and the 5070ti and 9070xt are pretty neck and neck in performance. If you're planning to get a 5080 down the line, sticking to what you have for now seems like the better move.
That makes sense, I was just worried about missing out on performance. I think I'll just stick with my current rig, thanks for the insight!
It's really not worth the stress. You already spent over $800 on your 5070ti, and the hassle of selling it, plus the risk of scams and fees, is something to consider. If you feel like you need a better CPU, sell that first when you're ready for an upgrade. Your GPU is doing its job nicely!
Yeah, I appreciate the advice. I’ll probably look at CPU upgrades in the future and just keep the 5070ti for now.
Nope, I wouldn't bother. Your current setup is more than capable for what you're doing. Just enjoy what you have for now. Focus on getting games or other accessories instead of new hardware.
Honestly, your CPU isn't bottlenecking anything, and the 5070ti is still a solid card. If you're thinking about a high-end CPU for the future, just wait. Selling and buying new stuff is a hassle and you might not make much of a gain anyway. Just upgrade the CPU when you need to.
Haha, you might have a point there. I think I got caught in the upgrade frenzy! Thanks for putting it into perspective.
