Is it Worth Upgrading My GPU on an Older PC?

Hey everyone! I've got an 8 to 9-year-old PC that I've mainly used for console gaming over the past five years, but I'm planning to switch back to PC gaming soon. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: i5 6600k
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1070
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Motherboard: ROG Maximus IX

My question is, can I upgrade the GPU first to improve my gaming experience a bit while I save up for other components? Or would that be a waste?

Absolutely, you can upgrade your GPU! Just keep in mind that if you're aiming for 4K gaming, you might not hit more than 60fps with your current setup. But a new GPU will still boost your graphics and speed a bit!

Honestly, it might be good to update your GPU, but you'll likely need to upgrade your motherboard and CPU eventually, especially if you're looking for better performance overall. What resolution are you currently using? I’m guessing 1080p?

Yeah, I'm not planning to dive into all the new releases right away since I’ve got a backlog of older games. Upgrading the GPU first makes more sense for my budget right now. I've already got a 4K monitor, so would something like the RX 9070 XT work well?
