Is it worth upgrading my GPU or motherboard for better gaming performance?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC setup, which currently includes a Ryzen 7 5700x processor, a Powercolor RX 6600 graphics card, 16GB of 3200 MHz RAM, and a Maxsun A520M-K motherboard. I'm debating between two options: upgrading my graphics card to an RTX 5060 or upgrading my motherboard to an ASRock B550M. Most of the time, I play games like CS2, Hogwarts Legacy, and the Final Fantasy series. Would upgrading the GPU be worthwhile, or is there another recommendation?

Upgrading the motherboard probably won't do much for your performance. If you're considering the RTX 5060, that should definitely improve your gaming experience since it's a solid jump in power. I'd go for that upgrade!

Thanks, that's helpful! I want to make sure the new GPU fits in my miniATX case though.

The RTX 5060 is around 60-65% more powerful than the RX 6600 and has a better upscaler for sharper visuals. But it only has 8GB, which may not be enough for a 2025 card. If you can, consider a 16GB card, though. Your CPU is still good, and you'll see the most benefit from upgrading the GPU.

Got it! But I have a concern about my miniATX case. I think it can only fit a GPU that's about 24cm long. Will the cards you mentioned fit?

I wouldn't waste money on a motherboard upgrade; it's unlikely to give you any significant performance boost. Instead, check your CPU and GPU usage while gaming. If your GPU usage is hitting close to 100%, then the upgrade to a new card is definitely worthwhile!
