Is it worth upgrading to 64GB RAM for just a bit more money?

I'm considering upgrading my RAM during a not-so-great timing. I found a 32GB kit priced at 200 euros, and a 64GB kit available for 250 euros, which has better timings. I'm wondering if it's worth spending the extra money on the 64GB kit, especially since I don't really need that much RAM except for its lower latency and higher bandwidth. What do you all think?

In my opinion, just buy the 64GB. For an extra 50 euros, you're doubling your RAM with better performance. It's a no-brainer!

I'd say go for the 64GB kit and sell off the extra RAM! You get double the capacity and improved speeds for just an additional 50 euros, which is a solid deal.

I never thought of that! Thanks for the tip!

Just a heads up, if both kits are made up of 2 sticks each, that plan might not pan out as well.

Definitely go for the 64GB option! Better speed and more room for future upgrades. It's worth it if you're already considering the upgrade.

If the 64GB kit has 4 sticks, I would suggest sticking with the 32GB kit. But if it's only 2, definitely go for the 64GB!

Before choosing, consider the specs. What are the MHz speeds of each RAM?

The 32GB is 3200MHz CL16, and the 64GB is 3600MHz CL17.

You're missing some details about the RAM and your setup—like what type of DDR it is or what motherboard you're using. If you're uncertain about needing 64GB, it's a sign you probably don’t need it. Also, keep in mind how many modules you’re getting; fewer can lead to better compatibility in some cases.

Apologies for not mentioning, it's 4 modules of 16GB at 3600MHz CL17 and 2 modules of 16GB at 3200MHz CL16. My motherboard is B550.
