I'm in the process of building a new PC primarily for gaming and getting started with game development. I'm trying to decide between the AMD Ryzen 7800X3D (priced at €330) and the 9800X3D (priced at €439). Is the additional €100 really justified for gaming and for using engines like Unreal or Unity, or would the 7800X3D be sufficient for my needs? For the GPU, I'm considering options like the 9070 XT (around €600), 5070 Ti (about €750), or 5080 (approximately €1050). How much difference do these upgrades actually make? Would the 9070 XT be good enough for both gaming and development, or should I invest more? My goal is to have a setup that's efficient for both gaming and game dev without overspending.

Honestly, any of these setups would work well, especially if your income is linked to how quickly you can develop. If that’s the case, maxing out on specs is probably worth it for quicker iterations. However, make sure to test your games on lower-end hardware to ensure scalability.
Overall, the performance difference between the two CPUs isn’t huge. The 7800X3D does tend to run a bit warmer, but it's manageable. You’ll be fine with either, really!
All of your options can handle 4K gaming. I went with the 9800X3D and 5080 combo since it was half the price of the latest model. A setup with the 7800X3D paired with a 9070 XT or 5070 Ti would be solid too. The difference isn’t massive, but it comes down to balancing performance with your budget.
