I'm about to build a new PC with an RX 9070 XT and a Ryzen 7800X3D, and I'm weighing the differences between CL30 and CL36 RAM. Both options are DDR5 6000MHz, but the CL36 RAM is priced at £80, while the CL30 RAM costs £100. Is the price difference worth it for the performance improvement?

Considering the overall cost of your build, the £20 difference isn’t too hefty. CL30 does give you a slight performance bump, but for just 1-2% more speed, the upgrade is probably worth it.

For an extra £20, I'd say go for CL30. Even if it only offers a 1-2% increase, that can make a difference in the long run, especially compared to saving a lot by sticking to a lower tier like free RAM from your motherboard offers.

From my testing, the jump from slower RAM isn’t as big of a deal on AM5 as it was on AM4. The difference in performance between 4800C40 and 6000C30 was practically non-existent for me.

Absolutely go for CL30! It offers a noticeable speed advantage over CL36, making it worth the extra cash for your setup.

You might want to check for some CL32 kits around £80. Just keep in mind that while CL36 isn’t a dealbreaker, the Ryzen X3D’s vcache reduces the impact of RAM speed on performance; so, even a slight difference may not be that crucial.

How do you manually adjust it?
