Hey everyone! I recently stumbled upon a site called The Odin Project, and they're using JavaScript and Node.js for full-stack web development. I'm debating whether to dive into JavaScript since I've heard people recommending Python for beginners because it's easier. What's the better path to take? Should I stick with JavaScript for web development or go for Python?

Both languages have their challenges, but some find Python easier due to its simpler syntax, which mimics English. JavaScript can be straightforward too, especially if you're aiming for web development since it's essential for that. Just remember, regardless of the language, you'll encounter tough problems along the way!
I totally get that! I struggled with Python's indentation rules coming from C and Java.
JavaScript is still a go-to for web coding, and knowing it can definitely help your tech skills! While Python has its uses, particularly for backend development and data science, if you're focused on creating websites, JavaScript is invaluable!
I plan to dive into data science soon, but I’m curious about web programming too.
Absolutely! If you're excited about web development, jump right into JavaScript! It's a fantastic entry point into coding. Just have fun with it!
If you want to develop websites, JavaScript is the way to go since it’s essential for that area. However, Python is versatile too and great for a lot of other applications beyond just web development!
The Odin Project is a solid resource, but if you’re completely new to programming, I'd suggest starting with the University of Helsinki's Python course first. Once you grasp the basics, you'll find it easier to tackle the Odin Project later!
I started that Python course but didn't stick with it...now I'm reconsidering.
Got it! But is learning web development with JavaScript cool for absolute beginners? Should I focus on Python first?
