I'm curious if KubeCost remains the best option for managing cost attribution and optimization in Kubernetes as we head into 2025. I'm currently reaching out to their sales team for information, especially on pricing for self-hosted enterprise licenses. I know there's an alternative called OpenCost, but I'm particularly interested in the ability to view costs aggregated across multiple clusters, which appears to only be available in KubeCost's full enterprise version. Has anyone found other ways to achieve this?

Kubegrade is currently working on a solution for this. Just a heads up, I’m one of the founders, and we’d love to offer a free pilot program if you're interested!
You might want to check out solutions like CastAI, Spot.io, and ScaleOps. Just a warning about Spot.io—some people have had mixed experiences, so steer clear if you're unsure.
Honestly, I've never used these tools since we run our own data center. If you're in a similar situation, I'd suggest leveraging Grafana or ELK stacks to gather the data you're looking for using open-source projects.
You could also look at Densify. It leans more towards optimization rather than cost reporting, but it might meet your needs.
It really depends on what you're looking for! There are several tools out there for cost reporting, but for optimization, some of the key players include PerfectScale, CastAI, and ScaleOps. The first two also offer built-in cost reporting features.
