I'm currently working on my data structures and algorithms in Java and thinking about diving into Java backend development. I've heard a lot of people saying that Java is dying, which is super confusing to me. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether Java is still a good choice for backend development?

If you enjoy Java and are considering backend development, I’d say go for it! There's a significant amount of Java usage in startups and established companies so finding a job shouldn’t be a problem. Plus, a lot of legacy systems are built on Java, so there’s always a need for maintenance.
Java is very much alive and kicking. There’s a ton of software, including Android apps, that still run on Java. If you're passionate about it, go for it! Learning Java backend development can only open more doors for you down the line, especially with languages like C# or Go being easier to pick up later.
Honestly, most of the chatter about Java dying comes from folks who haven't really worked in the field. In reality, Java is still going strong!
That’s a really good point! It's always good to consider job opportunities, especially with larger firms.
