Is Learning PHP Worth It for Back-End Development?

I'm diving into front-end development right now and contemplating my next steps in back-end programming. PHP came to mind, but I'm not sure if it's still a relevant choice. Should I stick with PHP, or would something like Python be a better option? Any advice would be really appreciated!

PHP is widely used and has a solid ecosystem of libraries and frameworks. While it may not be the hottest tech on the block, it definitely offers decent job prospects for web development. If you're just starting out and want strong programming fundamentals, you might want to consider other languages. PHP can be a bit tricky if you’re not already comfortable with coding.

Choosing a back-end language really depends on what you want to do. If you're looking for job opportunities, there’s a lot of buzz around JavaScript backends like Node.js at the moment. That said, PHP is still a solid choice! You might also see job postings for languages like C# or Java, so you've got options. Personally, I think Go is a fantastic language too!

Yes, PHP is still relevant and widely in use, but really, it’s about picking one language and sticking with it for a while. You can switch later if needed. As for Python, it’s also good but more geared towards different types of software, not just web. Just focus on getting comfortable with one language first!
