Hey folks! I'm looking to upgrade to a new 2TB SSD soon and I've stumbled upon something surprising in my research. It seems like going for an M.2 SSD and using a PCIe slot could actually be cheaper than a SATA SSD. I'm a bit confused! I currently have two M.2 SSDs installed in my motherboard, which is why I initially thought about getting a SATA SSD. However, the prices I'm seeing show SATA SSDs ranging from 180 to 220 EUR, while M.2 SSDs are only about 120 to 150 EUR for 2TB. It turns out I also have an M.2 to PCIe adapter from Asus, so I wouldn't need to buy an adapter. Am I missing something here?

Generally, SSD prices are quite close these days, depending on the region. What SSDs do you have now, and what will you be using the new one for? Would help narrow down your best option!

I have the Samsung 970 Evo Plus and 960 Evo. I mainly store music sample banks and games, and was thinking of switching the 1TB 960 to a PCIe adapter to improve my boot drive tomorrow, but getting a reliable 2TB SSD while balancing price and lifespan is my top priority.
