Is Manjaro KDE a Good Choice for My NVIDIA GPU?

I'm looking to dive back into Linux after using Mint for a while, but I switched back to Windows when I got a new PC and never installed Mint again. I have an NVIDIA 4070Ti and tried Fedora with KDE Plasma, but ran into several issues, likely due to Wayland and NVIDIA drivers. I want to stick with Linux and prefer using KDE for its customization options over GNOME. My main use cases include gaming, game development, and everyday tasks. So, I'm curious if Manjaro would be a good fit for me or if you have other distro recommendations that might work better.

Manjaro should work pretty smoothly with NVIDIA GPUs. Just make sure to select the option to install proprietary drivers when booting from the installation media. This way, you'll have the correct drivers set up right away. Performance for gaming is solid, but consider upgrading the kernel as Manjaro typically ships with an LTS version by default if you want to boost performance further.

While Manjaro is generally okay, I've noticed some maintenance issues. If you want an Arch-based alternative, check out EndeavorOS or Cachy, as they may offer a more reliable experience. Fedora is also pretty user-friendly if you’re open to that.

If you're having trouble with NVIDIA and Wayland, I'd suggest sticking with X11. Manjaro Cinnamon has been fantastic for me. It really shines with the unstable repo options that give you access to the latest packages!

I’ve been using Manjaro with an older GTX 230 and it automatically set up the right proprietary drivers for me, which was super convenient. So I’d say it’s a great choice for your 4070Ti! Also, I've dabbled in Bazzite KDE and it works well too – great for gaming and daily tasks!
