Is Microsoft Remote Desktop Really Disappearing?

I just heard that Microsoft is discontinuing support for Remote Desktop, and it's stressing me out! I've been using it to access my class PCs remotely for updates and to check on student work. It worked like a charm for me. So now I'm wondering, do I need to switch to third-party tools? What are your thoughts? Have any of you found a solid alternative?

Actually, they're just renaming Remote Desktop to the Windows App. It's not completely gone! However, keep in mind that the new Windows App can't connect to on-prem servers like the old mstsc.exe could. Microsoft thinks everyone is moving to Azure, so they've made some changes that might not suit everyone.

Yeah, I have to agree about the naming. It can get confusing when they keep changing things around.
