Hey everyone! I recently noticed that some of my clients are still running Windows 11 on version 23H2. From what I understood, this version was supposed to reach its end of life back in November last year. According to Microsoft's article, support for Home and Pro devices was supposed to end on November 11, 2025. However, I checked the Windows Update History, and it looks like Microsoft is still releasing monthly security updates for 23H2, which are being rolled out to Pro devices without any Extended Subscription. Am I missing something here? Did Microsoft decide to keep providing support for 23H2 for Pro devices? I know that the Enterprise version has support until November 2026, but that's not what I'm focusing on right now.

Sometimes Microsoft does release security updates for versions that are technically past their end of support if there’s a serious vulnerability. That said, why not just update to 25H2?
I’m just asking since I saw some clients still using 23H2 and getting those monthly updates. I’m not resistant to upgrading, just curious about the support situation!
I haven’t seen any updates for my Pro 23H2 either; it’s strange. What’s your latest build version? There have been reports that updates are still being offered through Windows Update. You might want to check manually for the latest patches, just to be sure!
Yes! According to the latest KB Patch, it should be available through Windows Update if you’re not getting it automatically.
Regarding your question, I've seen some updates for Enterprise 23H2, but they seem a bit sporadic, and many of them fail to install on the first attempt. It doesn’t feel like they are putting much effort into support for 23H2 across the board.
Honestly, it seems like they're not really committed to any version of Windows at the moment.
You're right! The Enterprise version is still supported, and I've noticed Microsoft tends to hold off on pushing out updates, especially for feature releases. Many users just want stability over new features; as long as they can access their essential apps, they don't mind sticking to an older version.
I’m on 24H2 for work, and it’s been a troublesome release. I’d rather stick with a stable build than deal with the headaches of upgrading.
You’re spot on! They’ve been generous to keep updates rolling for Pro devices, but I think it’s mainly because they realize the vast number of users are reluctant to migrate across versions.

I’m running 24H2 at work, and it’s definitely not a great release. If 23H2 still gets updates, why rush to upgrade?
