Is MSI Tomahawk X870E’s Audio Quality Reliable?

I'm currently torn between the MSI Tomahawk X870E and the Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite. My main concern is the audio quality, particularly because the Tomahawk uses a USB-based ALC4080 chip compared to the legacy ALC1220 found in the Aorus. Both motherboards are priced the same in my area, so I'm wondering if the audio stability on the Tomahawk is up to par or if I should lean towards the Aorus instead.

Could you clarify what you mean by "stable audio"? Is it about avoiding pops or crackling sounds, or are you asking about overall quality?

I'm worried about issues like popping, crackling, or if the audio ever drops out completely.

I've got the Tomahawk X870 (the non-E version) and I've had zero audio problems. I plug my 3.5mm jack into an external amp for my bookshelf speakers and it sounds fantastic. Hope this gives you some reassurance!

Anything helps, thanks!
