I've been using a 6900XT for about five years and it's starting to show signs of problems like artifacting. So, I decided to upgrade to a 5080 Founders Edition but I just realized that the recommended power supply wattage is 850W. My current power supply is an 800W SilverStone SX800-LTI. Is this going to be an issue? I also have a 7900X CPU paired with a NZXT Kraken 280mm AIO cooler. I mainly play games like CS2 and Valorant, which I believe aren't too demanding. If I need to upgrade my PSU, what would fit in my Jonsbo Z20 case? Thanks in advance for your insights!

Honestly, I wouldn’t risk using your current 800W PSU with a 5080. It's just too old for such powerful hardware. You should definitely look into a new one.
1. Your current PSU is a high-quality SFX-L unit with a Titanium rating, which is a solid start.
2. Keep in mind that the 5080 can have significant power spikes, similar to the 4080 and 4090, so while an 800W can work, it might not handle intense gaming sessions well.
3. Recommended wattage is often a bit conservative, so your setup might run fine as long as you don't stress it too hard. Just be cautious when playing demanding games.
Would undervolting the GPU help with power demand? Or is it not worth the hassle?
Considering your PSU is almost a decade old, it might be best to upgrade. It's likely to work for casual gaming, but you could potentially face stability issues with the 5080 under heavy loads. Also, it lacks native 12VHPWR support, which could be a hassle down the line. I'd suggest investing in a new 850W or better PSU to be safe and future-proof.
