Is my Apple Watch safe after being at 0% for months?

I received an Apple Watch SE as a gift last Christmas and set it up, but then I completely forgot about it for a few months. After charging it recently, I've been using it daily for the last couple of months. It seems to be working fine, lasting through the day, although I need to charge it overnight, as it usually ends up around 50% by the end of the day. The battery health shows 100%, but I'm concerned about any potential long-term effects from it being idle at a 0% charge for so long. Any advice would be great!

Leaving a lithium-ion battery near empty for extended periods isn't ideal. It's generally better to store it charged to around 70%. If it sits at 0% for too long, it might go into overdischarge mode, which could cause it to need a slow charge to wake up or, worse, it could stop accepting a charge entirely if it's left too long.

I'm surprised you're worried about this! I mean, your watch is working fine now, and it hasn't shown any problems. Why stress over it?

I get that, but I'm not really tech-savvy. I just wanted to check if there are any potential long-term issues I should be aware of.

You should be fine! I still have an older Series 0 Apple Watch that I barely use; I just charge it up occasionally. It's still working great!

Exactly! But keep in mind that while it works, there's a chance you might lose some battery capacity over time.
