Is My Computer Being Accessed Remotely Through TeamViewer?

I recently had a breakdown with my main PC, so I had to borrow an old computer from my dad's workplace. I noticed it had some old programs like Outlook and TeamViewer installed, but everything seemed to function normally at first. The only new app I downloaded was called ActivityWatch. However, one day, while I was on my phone and the PC was still on, I noticed something strange happening on the screen—files were being selected by someone else! I quickly unplugged the Ethernet cable and ran an antivirus scan. Fast forward two weeks, and someone managed to connect to my PC through TeamViewer, logged out of my main account, and even tried accessing the admin account. I scanned the computer again with antivirus software, but it showed no threats. Only my dad is supposed to have access to this machine, and I'm certain it wasn't him who connected.

Sounds like you've got a remote access issue going on. TeamViewer could be the culprit here if it was left installed and accessible. Make sure your TeamViewer settings are secure—you can disable it or restrict who can connect to your PC unless you absolutely need it. Also, it’s a good idea to change the passwords on your accounts and check any active sessions, just to be safe!

Definitely take a look at your TeamViewer settings. If you don't need it, uninstall it and look into some stronger security measures!

If someone named MSBAT is accessing your system via TeamViewer, that's definitely suspicious. It’s best to disconnect TeamViewer and check for any unauthorized user accounts on your computer. And don't skip the antivirus—it can help, but sometimes malware can hide. Consider running a dedicated malware removal tool as well.

Good call on unplugging! Also, after you secure your computer, make sure to update your antivirus definitions and run a full scan again.
