Is My CPU Causing Performance Issues in Games?

I recently bought a prebuilt gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an RTX 5080 a month or two ago. I've been noticing that in games like Valorant, Rust, and Apex Legends, my CPU and GPU usage seem to be around 50/50, and these games are known to be CPU-heavy. Is there a way to fix this issue, or am I stuck with it?

Your Ryzen 7 9800X3D is one of the best CPUs out there, so it’s unlikely that it’s actually bottlenecking your GPU. Since those games are not very GPU-intensive, you can just enjoy your system without stressing about the usage percentages too much.

I get that, but I'm experiencing constant stutters, and it’s really affecting my gameplay experience.

There might not be a fix since you have a top-tier CPU. However, try checking your CPU temperatures and consider overclocking if you have adequate cooling. If temps spike above 95°C, that could definitely cause issues.

Half usage is common in these games since they don’t fully utilize the GPU. What resolution are you playing at?

I'm playing at 2560x1440.

It's normal for competitive settings to create a CPU bottleneck, maximizing your frames per second can lead to that. It might not be a problem; it’s just how high-performance gaming setups work.

With your setup, you should be getting over 200 FPS. But stutters might result from locked FPS, so checking your settings could help. If you're getting random stutters with both CPU and GPU showing similar usage, it might just be how these specific games are running.
