Is my CPU overheating during gaming?

I recently built a new PC and have noticed that my Intel Core Ultra 5 245k gets really hot while gaming. Even with a liquid cooling system installed, the CPU temperature spikes to 100-105°C and stays that high for extended periods. I'm aware it can handle those temperatures, but I'm worried about how often it reaches that level. Is this a major concern, and what can I do to lower the temps?

It sounds like you’re running into a serious thermal issue. If the coolant gets too hot, the fittings can get damaged, and your CPU could get fried. Even if the coolant isn’t boiling yet, it's a fire hazard for your system. Check if the radiator’s hot to the touch while running, and use a monitoring tool like HWiNFO to gauge your speeds and power under load. Ideally, you want your temperatures below 90°C to avoid throttling.

If you've checked all that and nothing's off, it might simply be that your cooler isn’t up to the job for your build. Make sure to regularly monitor during gaming, as sustained high temps will wear down components faster. Fix this sooner rather than later!

What cooler are you using? If it’s an AIO, it’s crucial that the radiator pipes are positioned correctly, preferably at the bottom of the case for optimal flow. If it's ceiling-mounted, that should work too, but be sure to eliminate any air-locks in a custom loop system. You need to keep airflow in mind!

First off, make sure you’ve removed any protective stickers on the contact plate of your CPU cooler before installation. Also, check that your AIO cooler is properly seated and making good contact with the CPU. You might also want to verify that you've applied the right amount of thermal paste. Those are pretty common issues that can cause overheating.
