Is My CPU Overheating Too Much?

Hi everyone! I just built my first PC and I'm pretty worried about my CPU temperatures. When I'm not really using my PC (just downloading stuff), my CPU temp hovers around 60 to 70 degrees Celsius. I live in India where it's currently summer and the average temperature is about 35 degrees Celsius, so I'm not sure if that's normal or if I should be concerned. I have a Ryzen 7 7700x and an RTX 5070 ti, plus I'm using a Lian Li Galahad II liquid cooler. Shouldn't my temps be lower? Any advice on whether this is an issue would be greatly appreciated!

When your CPU hits 70°C, it's definitely worth checking a few things. Firstly, what’s your room temperature like? If it’s really hot where your PC is, that could affect things. Also, ensure your case has good airflow—are there any dust build-ups or vents blocked? It’s critical that your liquid cooler is properly mounted and functioning. Double-check too if you took off any plastic covering from the cooler’s base and if you applied thermal paste correctly. Those little things can make a big difference!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll check my airflow and make sure everything is mounted right.

You might want to manually adjust your pump speed. Sometimes they come set really low by default. If it’s running at around 2500 to 3000 RPM, that sounds reasonable, but it could help to bump it up a bit if you're not already. Also, keep an eye on your power draw—to see how much juice the CPU is pulling when it’s running hot that could give you a clue about what’s happening.

I don’t have the tools to check power draw yet, but I’ll keep that in mind!
