Hey everyone! I'm trying to set up a PC for my kid so he can enjoy some games like Minecraft, Fortnite, and GTA V. Here's what I currently have:

- Motherboard: Asus Mini-ITX H81i Plus s/ IO Shield
- CPU: Intel i7 - 4790K 4.0GHz Octacore (4C/8T)
- RAM: DDR3 8GB 1600MHZ
- GPU: Nvidia GTX970 4GB
- SSD: 240GB
- HDD: 640GB
- PSU: Corsair CV550 550W

I'm looking for recommendations on whether this setup is still viable or if I should consider an upgrade. Thanks a lot!

If you're looking to upgrade without starting from scratch, here’s a bare minimum upgrade list:
- CPU: Intel Core i3-12100F
- GPU: ASRock RX 6600
- Total: Around $437.42
But if you can stretch a bit, the i5-12400F and RTX 5060 combo is also a great mid-range choice for about $561.94. Definitely check out the links to see if they're available!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll consider options 2 and 3, but I'm not sure about option 4 as it exceeds my budget.

Honestly, this setup is getting pretty old and could struggle with newer games. You might want to think about a full upgrade for the best gaming experience.

Any suggestions for a good CPU and GPU that won't break the bank?

It should run the games you've mentioned, but expect some performance issues. Do you have a budget in mind for potential upgrades?

I'm hoping to keep it between $600 and $750.
