I'm putting together a PC in France with a budget of €1300, mainly for 1080p gaming, playing Minecraft with shaders and mods, a bit of video editing, League of Legends, and emulation. I initially planned to use a Ryzen 5 7600 with DDR5 for better future-proofing, but RAM prices are ridiculously high, so I went with DDR4 instead. Here's the setup I've come up with:
- CPU: Intel i5-12400F
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B760 Gaming X DDR4
- GPU: ASRock RX 9060 XT 8GB
- RAM: 32GB DDR4-3200 CL16
- SSD: Kingston NV3 1TB
- Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3
- PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12 – 650W
- Case: Aerocool P500C
The total comes to around €1310. Do you think this configuration will hold up for my intended uses in 2026?

The i5-12400F is a solid choice, but if you can swing it, consider upgrading to a 12600K, 13400F, or 14400F if the price difference isn’t too steep. You might find noticeable boosts in efficiency and performance, especially for productivity tasks. The rest of your build looks good! A 750W PSU would be wise if you think about upgrading the GPU later. After all, I did a build almost identically like this for a buddy last summer for about $750, times have changed!

The 12600K is an extra €50, the 13400F is just €10 more, and the 14400F is about €35 more. All are still within budget, but are they really worth it? Plus, I see the 9060 XT you're considering is the 8GB variant and the 16GB is an extra €100. Could I afford to upgrade either the CPU or GPU?
