I'm gearing up to build my first PC after using a prebuilt with a 1050 Ti for quite some time. I've put together a parts list and would love some feedback, especially to ensure I'm not going to face any bottlenecking or other issues. Here's what I plan to get:
1. CPU: Ryzen 5 7600x
2. GPU: XFX AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT Triple Fan 20GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0
3. Motherboard: ASUS B650M-A Prime AX II AMD AM5 microATX
4. RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 16GB (1 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 PC5-48000 CL36 single channel (I plan to upgrade later)
5. Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM
6. SSD: Western Digital Black SN770 1TB M.2-2280
7. Case: Okinos Oak Wood ATX PC Case (comes with 4 non-PWM case fans)
8. PSU: Montech CENTURY II 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular
I'm mostly worried that the CPU cooler may not be enough, as I want to game at 4K for AAA titles (I'm okay with around 60 FPS) and at 1440p for games like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals to aim for higher FPS. I live in the US and have access to a Micro Center.

Your parts list looks solid overall! It would help to know your budget since that might sway some decisions on value. If you can grab the CPU and RAM from a Micro Center bundle, that could be a great deal, especially if they have a 32GB upgrade available for just $35. If you can snag that 7900 XT for around $600 or less, it's definitely a good buy. Otherwise, I'd say you're on the right track!
Honestly, your cooler will do the job! Just maybe spend a bit more to get a 2x16GB RAM kit. If you find a good deal on that 7900 XT, go for it!
Just a heads-up, the 7900 XT is actually out of production now; you might want to consider the 9070 XT instead. Also, I'd recommend going for 2x16GB of 6000MHz CL30 RAM for better performance. As for your cooler, it should handle everything just fine, except for top-of-the-line CPUs like the 14900K.
Definitely! I was just weighing my options, but I’d lean toward the 9070 XT for now.
Haha, right? What's even good enough for that monster? But seriously, if you're looking to balance price and performance, the 7900 XT is still a solid choice.
