Is my first PC build good or overkill?

I'm building my first PC and would love some feedback on the parts I've chosen. Here's the list: (link to part list) It features an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Thermalright CPU cooler, Asus TUF GAMING B650E motherboard, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64 GB RAM, Crucial T710 1 TB SSD, Western Digital 6 TB HDD, Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPU, and a bunch of other components totaling just over $4000. Am I making any mistakes here? Also, I need tips on case fans since I've never built a PC before. Thanks!

I think the RAM pricing caught almost everyone off guard. Have you checked out getting used RAM? It's much cheaper and safe enough for components like that. It might help you save cash for a better GPU. Plus, a reasonable amount like 32GB could be good enough for gaming. Just a thought!

Honestly, your build looks pretty solid. But you might have gone a tad overboard with the RAM and 4K monitor paired with a 5060 Ti. A lot of people will tell you that 64GB is overkill for gaming — 32GB should be plenty for most uses. Plus, the 5060 Ti might struggle at 4K resolutions. You could consider a 1440p monitor instead, which would give you better performance without needing to upgrade your GPU sooner. Overall, great start but maybe reevaluate some choices!

Thanks for the advice! I will look into reducing the RAM and changing the monitor. Do you have any suggestions on a good 1440p monitor?
