I've built a gaming setup with an i7 13700k CPU, an RTX 3060 12GB GPU, and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM operating at 6000ms. I also have a Samsung G8 monitor, capable of 4K at 240Hz. Right now, I'm playing games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone at 1080p, hitting about 120 FPS. I'm looking to up my gaming experience to 1440p at 120 FPS and would love your thoughts on what GPU upgrade would help me achieve that. Additionally, can my current build support a goal of 240 FPS at 1440p? Lastly, when I eventually move to 4K gaming, will I face any limitations beyond just the GPU? Thanks in advance!

If you're considering an upgrade, going to a 4060 GPU could work, but make sure your power supply is up to the task. Just need to confirm the wattage though!
I’ll have to double check that, thanks!
Both the 9070 XT and 5070 Ti are great options. Honestly, the 5080 is pretty overpriced for what it offers.
It really depends on your budget! If you're open to options, I'd suggest going for a 5070 Ti or maybe a 9070 XT if it's cheaper and you don't mind skipping some NVIDIA features. They're solid choices for boosting your FPS at 1440p.
I honestly am not sure what NVIDIA features are? Is that DLSS? If so, I definitely use that. I do make it a point to stay on the newest drivers as well.
Budget is up to $1000, preferably less.
I just upgraded to a 5070 Ti, and it runs like a beast at 1440p. I’ve got a high refresh rate monitor (144Hz), so I use DLSS and Framegen to really maximize my performance—it’s definitely worth it!
For Call of Duty, I'd recommend going with an AMD GPU. A 9060XT should easily handle 1440p at about 200fps with competitive settings. If you want to hit 240fps at ultra settings, a 9070XT will be necessary. NVIDIA GPUs tend to lag behind in COD games.
I've heard that before—does AMD perform better because consoles use AMD? Thanks for the info!
Just a heads up, 1080p and 1440p won't look as crisp on a 4K monitor compared to a native 1440p display. If you're aiming for 240 frames at max settings, a 5070 Ti should get you around 200FPS in Warzone. For Black Ops 6, you might need at least a 5080. But honestly, you can have a solid experience with around 165 FPS max.
Very helpful comment, thank you! Should I lower my display resolution in my system settings then?
The 4060 isn't really a step up from the 3060; that's not great advice.
