Is My GPU Really Not Being Used While Playing SOMA?

I've just started playing the game SOMA and switched to CachyOS a couple of days ago. While using MangoHud to check my performance, I noticed that it reports 0% GPU usage and 0 temperature. My CPU usage is between 8-20% with my setup being an RTX 4060 laptop and an i7 13700HX. Even when I check with btop++, the readings are the same, and it's making me anxious that my GPU might be overheating or facing issues. However, nvidia-smi shows that the GPU is being detected just fine. Any insights on what might be happening?

Have you considered using the Steam performance monitor instead? It might give you better readings than MangoHud.

I might give that a try! Just want to make sure everything's running smoothly.

For what it’s worth, if your GPU’s temperature is at 0, that means it’s not being monitored correctly, so you can’t really trust those numbers. Unless you're in an icebox, it should be operational! 😂

A low GPU usage reading generally indicates optimization issues, but in this case, it's likely just a bug with MangoHud. Don't worry too much; it's probably nothing to stress over.

It sounds like MangoHud isn't tracking your GPU correctly, so those 0% readings might not mean anything bad. Your GPU should be fine, even if it looks strange right now.
