I'm building a small form factor gaming rig for my living room aimed at playing AAA titles. I snagged a solid deal on a motherboard and CPU combo featuring the Intel Core Ultra 5 225F. I'm curious whether this CPU will pair well with an RTX 5070, or if it will limit my gaming performance in high-end games. I'd appreciate any insights!

Just a heads up, some 2xx CPUs have been known to stutter in various games, even when the GPU is the main load, due to their architecture. Keep that in mind when setting expectations!

You should be good! Benchmarks indicate the U5 225F outperforms my 7600x, and I’ve been playing Cyberpunk at 1440p with max settings and ray tracing on my RTX 5070 without any issues. You're in for a solid gaming experience!

Good to know. Thanks!

Also worth mentioning: the case I have includes a PCIe 4.0 riser cable, but my motherboard and GPU are both PCIe 5.0. Should I opt for a 5.0 riser, or can I stick with the 4.0 one without issues?

If you’re gaming at 1080p, you might be okay. Generally, the higher the resolution, the less the CPU tends to matter, so that could help you out.

It really depends on the resolution you’re playing at and which games you run. Just remember, there will always be some kind of bottleneck in any system. It's part of the game!
