I just got my Intel Ultra 7 265K processor from Amazon Canada, but there's a catch! The chip looks legit, but the packaging it came in is for an Ultra 5. I checked the serial number using FPO and ATPO, and it seems to match the processor I ordered. Could someone have tampered with it, or am I in the clear?

One way to check is to run a CPU benchmark. It’ll give you a score you can compare to the expected performance of the Ultra 7. If your score is close to what you should be getting, then you’re likely good to go!
Just a heads up, I'm also new to building PCs, and I haven’t assembled mine yet either, so I'm in the same boat. But I think running benchmarks once you have everything together is a solid plan!
