I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from an RTX 3060 Ti V2 OC to an ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 Ti TUF Gaming OC. My current motherboard is the ASUS ROG Strix B550-E Gaming, and I'm unsure if it will effectively support the new GPU. I've also heard that my 650W PSU needs to be upgraded to something like 850W or even 1000W for the RTX 5070 Ti. My question is: does the PSU only affect the GPU, or does it have an impact on the motherboard as well? Also, considering my current CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6x 3.90GHz, will I need to replace my motherboard or CPU if I upgrade the GPU? I'm mainly gaming on titles like Diablo 4, WoW, and Elden Ring, so I'd like to keep costs reasonable without going overboard. I'd really appreciate any insights!

Good news! Your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot, so pretty much any GPU made in the last two decades will fit right in. You should be just fine with the upgrade.
Your motherboard is solid for the RTX 5070 Ti! Just make sure to get that new PSU since 650W is on the low side. The 5700X3D is a nice CPU upgrade if you decide to go that route, but honestly, you might be fine just starting with the new GPU and PSU. Playing at higher resolutions can lessen the impact of CPU performance too, so you might not need to rush into a CPU upgrade right away.
Yeah, I think you’re right! Just upgrading the GPU could be enough for now.
Definitely go for a new PSU along with the GPU. You could look into the 5700X3D or just see how the 5070 Ti performs with your current setup. Sometimes you can get away with just the GPU upgrade depending on what games you're playing. If you want to go all out later, you could explore AM5 for a complete overhaul, but that can get pricey!
Alright, that clears things up! Thanks for confirming that!
