Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of a tech dilemma. My last motherboard died, so I got a new MSI B760 Tomahawk MAG DDR4. However, now my system isn't recognizing my Intel i5 14600K CPU. I'm wondering if the problem lies with the motherboard, since it was designed for 12th and 13th gen CPUs, or if my CPU is possibly dead. Just a heads-up, I don't have a spare Intel CPU to test with, and where I live, getting a BIOS update is pretty pricey, though still cheaper than a new GPU.

Have you thought about returning the motherboard for one that supports 14th gen right out of the box? Or maybe one that has BIOS flashback options? It could save you some hassle.
What's the BIOS version you have? This motherboard should support the 12th and 13th gen out of the box, but for the 14th gen, it might need an update. Look on the box—it usually indicates if it’s ready for 14th gen or not.
I’m not sure about the BIOS version, but the box definitely says it supports 12th and 13th gen.
Check the serial number on your motherboard box. If it’s 2311 or higher, you should be good on BIOS compatibility. It likely shouldn’t be a BIOS issue if that’s the case.
I’m worried about the warranty since I added a CPU contact frame, so I’m unsure if returning it is a good idea.
