Hey everyone, happy new year! I've got a question about my setup. My i5 12400f recently died, and now I'm using an i7 12700f that my brother gave me. It's already installed, and I'm running it with an RTX 3070 at 1366x768 for light gaming, but I'm worried about the long-term effects on my motherboard. I've heard that the VRMs can get really hot with this processor. Considering I'm using a 240mm water cooler and my case has three additional fans, is there a serious risk of damaging my MSI PRO H610M-E motherboard over the next year?

Yeah, it should work fine! Just keep in mind that while it can handle the i7 12700F, performance might throttle under heavy loads. Many pre-built PCs from brands like Dell and HP run with less cooling and still last for years, so you're probably in good shape as long as you don't push it too hard.

Thanks for the heads up! So even with potential throttling, my components should be safe? I've got a decent cooling setup with the water cooler and those fans, so hopefully, that helps too.
