Hey everyone! I'm about to build a new PC and I've done quite a bit of research, but I feel like there might be things I haven't thought of yet. I'm hoping to get your opinions before I make any purchases and find out I've missed something important.
My requirements include using the PC for virtual machines, gaming occasionally, and running OLED monitors. I really want it to be as quiet as possible, and I prefer minimal RGB lighting. Also, I'm on the lookout for a case that looks professional with plenty of front USB ports.
Here's my current build list for reference:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 4.3 GHz 16-Core Processor
- **Cooler**: be quiet! Silent Loop 2 360 Liquid Cooler
- **Motherboard**: Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7
- **Memory**: 96 GB DDR5-6000
- **Storage**: 2 TB WD BLACK SN8100 & 4 TB Samsung 990 Pro
- **GPU**: MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32 GB
- **Case**: Fractal Design Torrent ATX Mid Tower
- **PSU**: be quiet! Straight Power 12 1200 W
Total cost is around £4,434.94. Any advice or suggestions you all have would be awesome!

You've got an impressive build here! As for bottlenecking, it's a bit of a tricky subject because there's always going to be one component that's limiting others, depending on what you're doing. In your case, since you're picking top-end parts, the bottleneck might just shift around based on tasks.
One suggestion: consider using two 4TB Samsung 990 Pros instead of a Gen 5 SSD; they tend to run hotter and are pricier, which might not be worth it for your needs. Overall, you're on the right track!
Thanks for the insight! What do you think about the CPU cooler? Is there a significant benefit to going with water cooling over traditional fans?
