Is My New PC Build Good Enough for Gaming?

I'm putting together a new gaming PC and have a list of parts I'd like to get some feedback on. I've particularly got a question about monitor options: I'm currently considering using a 60Hz 1080p monitor for a while, but would it be better to invest in a 1080p 240Hz or a 1440p 144Hz monitor? The games I plan to play include Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, and GTA 6, aiming for high or ultra settings, though I'm okay with medium settings for less demanding games.

Here's my parts list:

**CPU:** Intel Core i7 12700K
**GPU:** Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 WINDFORCE SFF 12G
**Fans:** Lian Li Uni Fan SL-INF 120 RGB 3x
**RAM:** Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 3200 MHz 16x2 GB
**Motherboard:** Asus TUF Gaming B660-PLUS WIFI D4
**Power Supply:** CORSAIR RM650e
**Case:** Corsair 3500X ARGB Black
**M.2:** Lexar NM620 1TB - SSD
**CPU Cooler:** DeepCool LE720

Am I missing anything? Is this a good list, or should I consider changing something?

First off, can you tell us your budget? It helps to know that before saying anything about your build!

I want to keep it under $1500, and this build is costing me about $1460.

I see where you're going, but the Intel Core i7 12700K is a bit dated and on an LGA 1700 platform that's approaching its end. If you're looking for a future-proof option, consider switching to an AM5 platform instead. The newer CPUs have better longevity and performance. It might save you some headaches later on, especially since I’ve heard about reliability issues with the higher-end 13th/14th gen Intel chips.

Could you suggest a good CPU that fits my budget? I’m honestly not too worried about upgrading in the future; I just want something that will last a while.
