I've got an older PC build that hasn't been upgraded since my high school days working fast food, but I've looked online and don't see any compatibility issues. However, when I try to install my new Nvidia 5070 (upgraded from a 3050), my PC just won't detect it, no matter what I do. Is there an easy fix for this, or should I take it to a professional for help? Here's my build:
- CPU: Intel Core I9-11900K
- CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212
- Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z590-A
- GPU: Nvidia 5070 (formerly NVIDIA 3050)
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8) DDR4-4000
- Storage: Samsung QVO 870 series 2TB internal SSD
- Storage: Samsung EVO 970 1TB PCIe Gen3 internal SSD
- Power Supply: Corsair RMX series (RM850X) 850W

Everything in your build looks like it should be compatible. Are you using a 12VHPWR connector or the octopus adapter that splits it up? That connection can be important.

I'm using the adapter that came with the 5070, which splits a 12V power into a 2x6. Does that make a difference?
