I'm considering a new build for 4K video editing using DaVinci Resolve, and I also want to game on the side. I've put together some specs during iBUYPOWER's Labor Day sale and wanted to know if this setup is solid or if I'm just overspending. Here are the specs:
- **Case**: iBUYPOWER HYTE Y70 - White
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
- **GPU**: GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB
- **RAM**: 32GB DDR5-6000MHz Corsair RGB
- **Storage**: 2TB Crucial M.2 NVMe SSD
- **PSU**: Corsair RM850e (850W, White)
What do you all think? Is there anything I should change, like more RAM or a different GPU? I'd appreciate some honest advice before I finalize my purchase!

The CPU is great for editing, but it's also a chunk of your budget, just like the case. Just keep an eye on overall costs!
This is a popular gaming build right now. If video editing is your main focus, you might want to consider a CPU with more cores, like the 9900X. It's pretty affordable and might give you a slight edge in editing due to its core count. The 5070 Ti is fantastic value, though!
That build looks solid! You’ve got high-end specs that should handle 4K video editing and gaming really well.
Sweet, thank you!
I’m actually about to build something very similar. I just upgraded the PSU a bit in case I want to swap in a better GPU later, but your setup seems good to go!
What SSD are you using? Just a heads-up, if it's a P3, it might not cut it for video editing tasks.
I went with 2TB Samsung 990 EVO PLUS M.2… yay or nay? Lol
He chose a 9950X3D, not a 9800X3D.
