Is My PC Finally Crapping Out?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice because I'm feeling a bit lost with my PC. I built it in 2018 when I was younger, and lately, it's been acting up. I factory reset it recently to try and boost performance, which helped just a little. The main problem is that my monitors keep going dark—sometimes they don't turn on at all, and other times they go completely white or purple. Plus, the computer itself is stuttering a lot.

I don't think it's a virus since I've checked for that, but now I'm wondering if my PC has just reached the end of its life. Here's a bit about my specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1080, and 16GB of RAM. I wish I could look up more details right now, but like I said, my monitors are being super uncooperative. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your hardware might be struggling a bit. If your games are running slower than before, that could be a sign that your GTX 1080 isn't keeping up anymore, especially if you used to get a solid 120+ FPS in League of Legends and now it's down to around 80. Have you checked for driver updates or any software that's hogging resources? Sometimes settings can change after resets. But if these issues keep happening with the monitors, it might be time to consider upgrades.

I feel you! It’s tough to determine whether it’s the aging hardware or just a configuration issue. Given your specs, the Ryzen 5 3600 should still be decent, but the GTX 1080 is showing its age. Monitor problems can sometimes hint at cable issues or even problems with the GPU itself. Maybe try reseating your GPU and checking cables, or even testing with another monitor if you can. If the stuttering continues, it might indeed be worth considering new components soon.
