Is My PC Malfunctioning?

Hey everyone, I need some help figuring out what's up with my PC. When I open the task manager, I see my CPU usage spike from around 70% down to a normal 10%. I've found some really large AMD logs (like 20GB, 15GB, and 10GB) inside a folder named 'amd' in System 32, and while that might be standard, it just feels a little off to me. Plus, I've noticed that when I leave my computer on, my C drive starts to fill up unexpectedly, going from 6GB of space down to just 200MB! This is all a bit concerning and driving me crazy. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might have some malware on your hands. I recommend running the built-in Windows antivirus first, and then maybe try Malwarebytes for a thorough scan. It'll help you figure out what's really going on.

Happy cake day! I can't believe you came here before checking your PC, though, lol.

Also, if you're worried about just relying on MS Defender, check out other scanners too: https://old.reddit.com/r/antivirus/wiki/index#wiki_second-opinion_scanners. Just remember to uninstall anything after you're sure your system is clean—having multiple antivirus programs can slow everything down.

Definitely check your PC for any viruses. You should also look into which processes are taking up space, as those large logs do seem excessive. 20-30GB is a lot for logs.

It could be that your hard drive is failing, which might explain why it's struggling to access files and causing those spikes in CPU usage.
