Is my PC safe for an upgrade to a new GPU?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to an MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Shadow 2X OC 8GB GDDR7. My current setup includes an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, an AMD RX 570 GPU, and a Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD, which has been acting up lately, sometimes disconnecting and causing my PC to boot into BIOS. I also have 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM and a Gigabyte B450 AORUS M motherboard. I'm mainly gaming on my TV, and I just finished a game in low graphics settings, so I'm eager to improve performance without breaking my system. Will this upgrade work, or am I risking damage?

Expect a CPU bottleneck since you’re using older hardware. Your GPU will be waiting for your CPU to catch up, leading to 100% CPU usage while the GPU runs below 90%. It might be time to consider a full upgrade, but if you decide to stick with it, a Ryzen 5000 series CPU like the 5800x3d could work well with a BIOS update. Just double-check your motherboard’s compatibility.

I appreciate the detailed info! I’ll definitely look into upgrading the CPU as well!

You won't break anything with that upgrade, but be aware that your CPU might create a bottleneck, especially since it's not the latest. It's something you'll want to address soon!

Where do you think the bottleneck will occur? I’m open to upgrading more parts!

Upgrading won’t cause any damage. But seriously, don’t swap your SSD for a hard drive—that'll slow you down big time! Stick with the SSD.

Thanks for the heads-up! I hope to upgrade other parts soon to help with my current issues.
