I've been traveling to Palestine and Israel with my family, and as an American citizen, I'm aware of the risk of Israeli malware. Recently, while on a call with a business partner, I heard our conversation replaying in the background about ten minutes in. This strange occurrence was definitely not coming from either of our phones. Now that I'm back in the USA, I feel really uneasy. I've switched to a Galaxy Fold 7 but it doesn't seem to be functioning well lately. Should I consider switching to an iPhone instead? Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Welcome to the club! If the Shin Bet is looking at you, you might have done something really questionable to catch their attention. What was your experience like at the airport when you left Israel?
It sounds more like a technical glitch than someone targeting you specifically. Typically, only high-profile individuals get put under surveillance like that. Did you share your phone with anyone who might have access to install malware?
I get that it might seem unusual, but given the political climate there, I seriously worry that it could be more than just a random glitch. My phone's just been lagging and glitching ever since.
I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary—I’m very cautious with my behavior in airports. I work in civil engineering for peaceful projects in the Arab Gulf, so I’m no stranger to the scrutiny there. Just want to know how to ensure I’m safe and my phone isn’t being monitored.
