Is My Power Supply Adequate for Upgrading to an RTX 5060?

I've been saving up to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 1070 to an RTX 5060. In doing my research, I realized that the new generation GPUs tend to require more power. My current power supply is a Fortron Hyper S 600W, and I've come across conflicting information about whether it's sufficient. A PSU calculator indicated that it should work, but another source suggested otherwise. If anyone has insights or experiences with power supplies, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Definitely check your whole build using PCPartPicker; it gives you a good estimate of power usage across all components. I've been running an RTX 5060 on a 500W PSU with no issues, just remember to check the PCIe settings in BIOS if your motherboard is an older generation.

Your current power supply should be just fine for the RTX 5060. Newer GPUs are designed to be more power-efficient compared to older models, so you might actually be consuming less power overall. As long as your PSU is functioning well and you've had no issues with your GTX 1070, you should be safe with the upgrade.

The RTX 5060 has a relatively low power consumption of around 145W, but keep in mind the total power draw from your CPU and other components too. If you are typically under 245W total load with your setup, then your 600W supply should provide plenty of headroom. Just make sure it's a decent quality PSU, like a Corsair RMx or Seasonic.
