Is My RAM Working Properly? Running 4x DDR5 at 6000MHz

I recently added an extra 32GB of RAM to my computer setup, but I'm not sure if it's functioning as it should. My current configuration is 4 x CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL36 paired with an ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X CPU, and a SAPPHIRE PURE AMD RADEON RX 9070 GPU. Although the RAM is set to run at 6000MHz, Windows is showing it at only 4800MHz. I experienced a long boot time, hanging on the orange DRAM light, and I had issues while streaming and recording. I'm hoping to figure out if this RAM setup is causing my problems, especially since I have to return these sticks soon if they're not suitable. Can anyone help me understand what's going on?

It sounds like your RAM might be unstable, which could lead to your problems. Just so you know, even if they have the same specs, mixing RAM sticks isn't always guaranteed to work well, especially with 4 DIMMs. Did these issues crop up before adding the new RAM? Try running just the two new sticks alone to check if they're faulty. You can monitor your RAM speed with hwinfo64; check the memory timings section for clarity.

DDR5 actually can work with four sticks, but it can be trickier than with two. It seems like your system could be confused or config issues might be at play. Windows doesn’t always report the right speeds—so it’s possible your RAM is running correctly according to its specs. Don't stress too much. Just make sure you return those sticks if you think they're not a good fit anymore!
