Hey everyone! I just upgraded my PC with an Asus TUF RTX 5070 Ti that I got yesterday. Since I don't have the latest 12-pin cable, I'm using the adapter that came with the GPU and plugged it into my Corsair RM850e power supply. However, I noticed that the adapter is kind of pushing against the tempered glass of my Corsair 470T RGB case. At first, I didn't think much of it but after reading about potential issues, I removed the case. I'm worried—should I leave it on or could it harm my components? I'm also considering purchasing a 90-degree cable from Corsair, but I'm unsure if it would work with my power supply. I've heard cautionary tales about using the wrong cables and it makes me anxious. Another thing, I realized the adapter needs three 8-pin cables, but I only have two and used a piggybacked approach on one cable. Is that okay or could it damage my GPU? Lastly, I'm really worried that my GPU may already be damaged from this setup since I played some games after installation. Thanks a ton for your help!

12VHPWR ports are standardized, but the PSU power pin layouts can vary. If you opt for the adapter, just ensure it's 12VHPWR to 12VHPWR instead of connecting it to an 8-pin. That’d be safer. The link you provided is specifically for your PSU, so you're good there!
Honestly, it might be better to just get a power supply that has the right connector instead of using an adapter. You could be fine for now, but it's a risky move in the long run.
That setup looks a bit messy, but it shouldn’t cause issues unless the connectors are already faulty. The bending isn’t ideal, but using the pigtail should be okay. Getting that new 90-degree cable will definitely improve the aesthetics and reduce stress on those connections. Just make sure to look for the Corsair type 4 to ensure compatibility.
