I'm looking for some advice on my current build. I've chosen an SSD and I'm unsure if it's a good pick. The SSD you chose is definitely one of the top models available. You should be in good shape with that!
I've been using Samsung drives for about five years now, and they've been incredibly reliable. If I had to buy again, I'd stick with Samsung without hesitation. They perform great in my main system and are reliable in my other setups too.
Just curious, are you aiming for 4K gaming eventually?
I’d recommend aiming for at least a 2TB SSD if you can. It’ll give you plenty of space for games and other files.
What games are you planning to play with your setup? The 9800X3D would pair nicely with the 9070XT, but if you're looking to save some cash, the 7800X3D is still a solid choice. Both will perform well!
I'm mostly into Warzone, BF6, and Rocket League right now. I'm getting this build ready for GTA 6 and FH6. My current rig is an i5 8600K with a 2060.
If the price difference is only about $40, grabbing the 9800X3D seems worth it! You can always skip a couple of lunches to balance it out, right?
The SSD is a solid choice! Just make sure you update the firmware right away since some previous versions had bugs that could degrade the drive's health quickly. The 990 Pro is one of the best options on the market right now!
Right now, I'm just at 1440p, but I might consider upgrading to 4K in the future.
