I recently ran a health check using CrystalDisk and found my SSD is showing a caution status, which made me panic! After seeing the yellow warning, I backed up all my data to a new drive. Now I'm considering deleting that backup (1TB) to clear some space on the new drive. The SSD gets no use at all; I don't read or write any files on it. I'm really confused about what these numbers mean and whether it's safe to just delete the backup without risking losing my data. Any advice?

I totally get wanting to save space, but if you're worried, just remember that you can re-download a lot of files. If you do need to free up space, try moving disposable files to that caution drive instead of deleting your backup.
I’ve had one that showed caution too, and it was fine for a while but then it crapped out and messed up everything on there. I wouldn’t trust it. Better safe than sorry!
Honestly, if you're seeing a caution warning, that drive is probably on its way out. It’s better not to trust it with anything important. I’d keep your backup safe before making any decisions about deleting it.
I’ve been using a drive with a similar issue for years without problems, but I wouldn’t risk anything crucial on it. It's best to only store non-essential files there, in case it decides to fail. Why not just clear space on another drive instead?
