I recently upgraded to a 5070 Ti but I'm still using my old i7 12700F. In games like Marvel Rivals and Fortnite, I'm seeing around 30% GPU usage and 70% CPU usage. I even tried benchmarking Black Ops 6 and the results were confusing. I've read that upgrading to the i7 14700K should eliminate my bottleneck, but I'm wondering if I'm experiencing a real bottleneck now. Any insights would be appreciated! Your render resolution seems to be pretty low (1920x1088), which is likely why your GPU isn't being fully utilized. You're still hitting high frame rates, so it sounds like your setup is solid. No issues here!
Honestly, it sounds like you're not really bottlenecked at all. Your components aren’t maxing out, which makes me wonder why you think there's a problem. The CPU usage is higher, but it’s not uncommon to see that with your setup. You should be fine for most games!
Right? It feels like you've been looking at those sketchy bottleneck calculator sites that just want to sell you more stuff. With 1% lows of 149 FPS, you might actually want to increase your graphics settings instead!
With all these different perspectives, can I ask what steps I should take to hit 1440p at 240Hz in Marvel Rivals and Fortnite?
Why go for the 14700K when there are great Ryzen options? Just saying, but it seems like a bit of a gamble there.
I think the issue here is your FPS caps in these games. You're not hitting your GPU’s limit at your current settings. Try reducing DLSS or frame generation options since they're introducing more latency than necessary. If you reduce those caps, that should really let your system shine, but with your FPS already high, it may not even be worth an upgrade!

I'm aiming for 240Hz on my 1440p monitor. Do you think that would be doable?
